Steak Dinner!!

Do you ever come home from work and want a no fuss delicious meal? You want a steak, but how do you know when it’s done to the way you want it? I will show you, not only how to make the perfect steak for you, but you be resourceful with all of the flavor of the inside of the pan after you cook the steak. We will create an amber sauce chock full of meaty mushrooms, jalapeño peppers and onions sliced 2 different ways that will create a “melt in your mouth” amazing meal!!

1 NY Strip steak (desired number of oz)
Let the pan get hot….add 2 tb olive oil and put the steak in and sizzle
Use the “hand test” to check for doneness
Usually 2-5 min per side depending on cut
To cook the fat side…add 2 tb butter, tilt the pan, and fry the creamy fat of the steak side for a crunch
Leave the brown bits of flavor on the bottom of the pan and add 2 cloves of garlic, sautee this, then add 10 cremini mushrooms, 1 medium chopped onion, 2 seeded jalapeños

1 14.5 oz can of beef broth, 2-3 tbsp of corn starch (for desired thickness) and whisk. Pour over sautéed veggies and let reduce. Salt and pepper to taste

1 cup arugula, 1 oz sliced parmesan cheese, lime infused olive oil and fruit flavored or apple cider vinegar
